All ages and skill levels are welcome. Bring anything crafty you can work on at a cafe, including -- but not limited to -- knitting, crochet, embroidery, crewel, cross-stitch, hand-quilting, beading, jewelry-making, macrame, watercolors, latch hook, tatting, origami, duct tape wallets, and those potholders you make with stretch loops on a plastic loom.

We meet every Wednesday from 7 to at least 9 p.m. at Au Bon Pain, 1 Broadway (on the corner of York Street), in New Haven.

We also meet every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Panera, 132 Universal Dr. (I-91 exit 9) in North Haven (in the same plaza as Target and Michael's), every Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Yale Bookstore, 77 Broadway, New Haven, and every Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Starbucks, 1660 Litchfield Turnpike (Rte. 69) in Woodbridge.

Come every week or every once in a while--the only cost is any food and/or drink you might purchase.

No lessons as such, but if you bring chunky yarn (cheap acrylic is fine) and big knitting needles or a big crochet hook, someone'll gladly get you started with the basics.
